More About Chiropractic

As chiropractors, we investigate the way that the human body works. In our efforts to help our patients, we rely on our knowledge of the cells, tissues, organs, and systems that make up the human body. But we are more than the sum of our parts. And chiropractic is much more than a treatment for pain.

There is a life force, evidenced by the movement of energy through our bodies, that is the difference between a live being and something that is not alive. Even with all of our parts in tact, without the ability to move energy through our systems, we are unable to survive. In fact, the stronger our life force becomes, the more efficiently we are able to move our energy, and the more we are able to thrive. Chiropractic is chiefly concerned with strengthening this life force.

When we encounter forces and experiences that we are unable to completely resolve, our bodies respond by creating subtle distortions throughout our tissues. These distortions read as tension in our bodies and allow us both to continue despite the stress of the unresolved force and yet to remember that experience so that we may learn from it when the time is right. Chiropractic recognizes these tension patterns as subluxations. When your body releases one or more of these subluxation patterns, there is a moment of recognition, you resolve the stored force/experience and then your body releases the tension pattern because it is no longer needed.

With my hands, I listen to your body, recognize the subluxation patterns present and use touch to help you to release those patterns. It is as if I hold a mirror up for you and in seeing yourself from the inside it is effortless for you to change. In releasing your subluxation patterns, you are thus evolving or growing as an individual. Often this results in relief from pain and symptoms, and this greater ease frequently creates new opportunities for you to grow and challenge yourself further. In this way, chiropractic is about much more than assisting you in a release from pain.
